School holidays are the most requested periods of the year. Flights and hotels fill up quickly, and the best availability goes first. This guide helps you choose, season by season, the organised trip that will suit the whole family, and book it at the right time.
1. The rhythm of school holidays in Morocco
The Moroccan school year is punctuated by several breaks of about one week, spread between autumn, the end of the year and spring, before the long summer holidays. French and international schools follow their own calendar, with holidays that are often longer. Exact dates change every year: remember to check them with your children's school before booking.
This rhythm is ideal for organised trips. A week's holiday corresponds exactly to our 8-day / 7-night packages, while summer lets you travel for longer and combine several stops. You still need to choose the right destination for the season: that is what this guide is for.
Which trip for which season?
| Season | Ideal for | Our suggestions |
|---|---|---|
| Autumn | Last sunshine, quieter cities | Tunisia, Istanbul, Lisbon |
| Winter | Escaping the cold | Cape Verde, Red Sea, Nile cruise |
| Spring | Cultural visits | Italy, Barcelona, Cappadocia, Albania |
| Summer | Sea and longer tours | Antalya, Bodrum, Tunisia, Albanian Riviera |
2. Autumn: late-season sunshine
Autumn is an often underrated season, yet ideal for travelling with family. The Mediterranean stays mild, temperatures are pleasant and cultural sites are far less crowded than in high summer. It is the perfect time for a week of relaxation or a first discovery abroad.
To rest, Tunisia is a safe bet: our stay at Hammamet - Tunisia Lodge includes the Royal Air Maroc flight and 7 all-inclusive nights, visa-free, from 9 390 MAD. To combine city and beach, Lisbon & Algarve offers 7 nights with flight included from 9 790 MAD, subject to a Schengen visa.
Finally, if you dream of discovery, Istanbul & Cappadocia is the Turkish classic: 8 nights on full board with a French-speaking guide, visa-free, from 6 400 MAD without flight.
Sousse - Orient Palace
7 all-inclusive nights in a 4-star beachfront hotel, Royal Air Maroc flight and taxes included. Visa-free for Moroccans. From 9 600 MAD per person.

3. Winter and year-end: head for the heat
When Europe cools down, the best idea is to aim for the sunshine of the Atlantic and the Red Sea. Pleasant temperatures, swimming possible and a real change of scenery: winter holidays take on a summer feel.
Sal Island in Cape Verde is our flagship destination for this season: white sand beaches, all-inclusive, flight from Casablanca and no visa, from 14 900 MAD. For families who also want to discover, the Cairo & Sharm El Sheikh tour combines the pyramids and the Red Sea in 10 days, flight included, from 17 300 MAD.
Winter is also the ideal season for a Nile cruise, when the heat remains bearable for visiting the temples of Luxor and Aswan, from 17 800 MAD.
4. Spring: cultural tours
Spring is the season of discovery tours. The days grow longer, nature regains its colours and temperatures are ideal for walking and sightseeing, without the heat or the crowds of summer.
It is the perfect time for Italy, where our seven tours cover Puglia, Tuscany, Sicily, the lakes and the Dolomites: our guide Italy: which tour to choose helps you compare. Barcelona & Costa Brava combines 4 nights in the city and 3 nights on the Catalan coast, flight included, from 14 900 MAD.
Visa-free, Cappadocia reveals its most beautiful landscapes in spring, and the Albanian Riviera offers a new and affordable destination, flight included, from 14 900 MAD.
5. Summer: the sea and longer tours
The summer holidays are the time to travel for longer and combine city and beach. They are also the most requested departures of the year, booked the earliest: plan to request your quote in spring.
Seaside Turkey is our summer best-seller: Istanbul & Antalya and Istanbul & Bodrum combine 4 nights of sightseeing with 5 nights on soft all-inclusive by the sea, with Turkish Airlines flights included.
With young children, Tunisia remains unbeatable: all-inclusive Hammamet and Sousse offer beach, pool and meals included. And for a change, the Albanian Riviera charms with its turquoise coves and relaxed seaside atmosphere.
6. Which trip by children's age?
Children's age changes the way you travel a great deal. With toddlers, it is better to choose a short flight and a single all-inclusive hotel, to limit tiredness and keep a regular rhythm: Tunisia and Cape Verde are perfect.
Between 6 and 12, children enjoy trips that mix discovery and swimming, such as Istanbul & Antalya, Lisbon & Algarve or Barcelona. Teenagers are often ready for real discovery tours: Cappadocia, Italy or Egypt will leave a lasting impression.
Our advice by age
| Age | Recommended format |
|---|---|
| Under 6 | All-inclusive stay, short flight, a single hotel |
| 6 to 12 | City and beach |
| Teenagers | Discovery tours |
7. What budget for a family trip?
Our prices are per person, in a double room. For a family, the simplest is to request a quote stating the number and age of the children: our advisors will then tell you the applicable conditions and the most suitable room configuration.
As a guide, allow under 10 000 MAD per person for all-inclusive Tunisia or Lisbon & Algarve, around 15 000 MAD for Cape Verde, Barcelona or Albania, and over 16 000 MAD for Turkey with domestic flights or Egypt. All our prices are gathered in our comparison of cheap trips from Morocco.
8. Preparing to leave as a family
A successful trip with children is prepared a few weeks in advance. First check the documents: each child must have their own passport, valid for at least six months after the return. Also find out which authorisations are needed if only one parent travels with the child, and about any visas, detailed in our guide to visa-free countries for Moroccans.
For the suitcase, think of a basic first-aid kit, sun protection suited to children, a few games for the flight and clothes suited to the season at the destination. Finally, keep your travel documents, essential medicines and a change of clothes for the youngest in your hand luggage.
9. Our tips for travelling with family
The first tip is simple: book early. During school holidays, the best availability goes fast. Request your quote one to two months before the short breaks, and in spring for the summer.
With young children, choose all-inclusive: with meals, drinks and entertainment included, the budget stays under control and parents enjoy their holiday too. Finally, a departure from Casablanca makes the trip much simpler: our flight-inclusive packages to Tunisia, Turkey and Cape Verde leave from Casablanca. In summary
Each season has its ideal trip: Tunisia or Lisbon in autumn, Cape Verde and the Red Sea in winter, Italy and Cappadocia in spring, seaside Turkey and Tunisia in summer. Adapt the format to your children's age, check their documents and book early: your family holidays will be all the more successful.
