No consulate appointment, no file to prepare weeks in advance: travelling to a visa-free country makes a trip much easier to organise. Here is the complete guide to destinations accessible with a Moroccan passport in 2026-2027, region by region, with an important change for Thailand.
1. Visa-free, visa on arrival, online authorisation: what is the difference?
When people talk about "visa-free countries", they often mix up three different situations. Telling them apart lets you know exactly what to expect before booking a flight.
With a visa exemption, you enter the country with your passport alone, within a length of stay set by the country, often 30 or 90 days. With a visa on arrival, the visa is issued directly at the airport, usually for a fee. Finally, an electronic authorisation, called an e-visa or eTA, must be requested online before departure, which remains much simpler than a consular application.
The three entry regimes
| Regime | What it means |
|---|---|
| Visa-free | Entry with your passport, within a maximum length of stay |
| Visa on arrival | Visa issued at the airport, usually for a fee |
| Online authorisation | e-visa or eTA to request before departure |
Be careful, though: "visa-free" does not mean "without conditions". In every case, the airline and border police may ask for a return ticket, a hotel booking and proof of sufficient funds.
2. Visa-free countries for Moroccans, region by region
The Moroccan passport opens the doors to many destinations on every continent. Here are the main ones, grouped by region, with the authorised length of stay where known.
Mediterranean and Caucasus
Turkey is the most popular visa-free destination for Moroccans: you can stay up to 90 days for tourism, and it is very easy to discover on an organised tour. Tunisia can be visited freely, making it an ideal option for a last-minute beach stay. Further east, Azerbaijan is also among the visa-free destinations cited by the Moroccan press.

| Turkey | 90 days | 3 tours |

Africa
Africa has many visa-free destinations. Cape Verde allows a 30-day stay and offers magnificent beaches all year round. Senegal allows a 90-day stay and Benin three months. Other West and Central African countries, such as Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, Guinea, Mali, Niger, the Gambia, Ghana and Togo, are also among the visa-free destinations, subject to health requirements such as the yellow fever vaccination certificate.

Asia
In Asia, Malaysia is often presented as visa-free for 90 days, although some sources mention an e-visa depending on the case: it is best to confirm before leaving. The Philippines allow a 30-day stay, and Hong Kong and Macao are also cited among the visa-free destinations.

Americas
Across the Atlantic, Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador welcome Moroccan travellers without a visa for 90 days. Several Caribbean islands, such as the Dominican Republic, Barbados and Grenada, as well as Haiti, are also visa-free: great options for a tailor-made trip.

3. Destinations with visa on arrival or online
Some long-haul destinations are not fully visa-exempt but remain very easy to access. For Indonesia (and therefore Bali), the Maldives, Jordan, Tanzania with Zanzibar, Mauritius, Cambodia, Nepal and Madagascar, the visa is obtained directly on arrival at the airport.
Other countries, such as South Korea, the Seychelles and Sri Lanka, require an electronic authorisation to be completed online before departure. These destinations lend themselves particularly well to tailor-made trips: our advisors arrange the flights and hotels and tell you the exact procedure to follow.
4. New: a visa for Thailand
This is the main change of 2026. Since 15 September 2026, Moroccans must obtain a visa before travelling to Thailand: Morocco has been removed from the list of exempt countries, which had allowed visa-free stays since July 2024.
What this changes for you
If you are planning Bangkok, Phuket or Chiang Mai, allow time for an electronic visa application before booking your final flights.
For a trip to Asia without prior formalities, Malaysia and the Philippines are now interesting alternatives, subject to checking the conditions in force at the time of departure.
5. Visa-free organised tours
Three visa-free destinations in our catalogue can be discovered on an organised tour, with a flight from Casablanca. It is the simplest solution for leaving quickly, without any consular procedure.
In Turkey, you can choose between Istanbul & Cappadocia, from 6 400 MAD without flight, and two city-and-beach packages with Turkish Airlines flights: Istanbul & Antalya from 17 590 MAD and Istanbul & Bodrum from 16 390 MAD. In Tunisia, our stays in Hammamet (from 9 390 MAD) and Sousse (from 9 600 MAD) include 7 all-inclusive nights and the Royal Air Maroc flight.
Finally, in Cape Verde, Sal Island can be enjoyed all-inclusive with the Casablanca - Sal flight, from 14 900 MAD. All our organised trips are presented in our guide to organised tours from Morocco.
Hammamet - Tunisia Lodge
7-night organised all-inclusive stay in a 4-star hotel, Royal Air Maroc flight and transfers included. From 9 390 MAD per person.

6. A visa-free honeymoon
For a honeymoon, having no formalities is a real comfort: you can focus on what matters. Turkey charms newlyweds with the romance of Istanbul and the hot-air balloons of Cappadocia, while Cape Verde offers deserted beaches and sunsets over the Atlantic.
If you dream of paradise islands, the Maldives, Mauritius and Zanzibar are accessible with a visa issued on arrival. Our advisors build these trips to measure, according to your dates and budget.
7. Destinations requiring a visa
Italy, Spain and Portugal are part of the Schengen area: a Schengen visa is therefore required. Plan your application several weeks before departure, as appointments can take a long time to obtain in high season. Our tours in Italy, Barcelona and Lisbon remain very popular with travellers who already hold a valid visa.
For the other destinations in our catalogue, such as Egypt or Albania, the formalities depend on your personal situation: our advisors tell you the exact procedure when you book.
8. Documents to bring and practical tips
Even without a visa, a few documents remain essential. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after your return date and have blank pages. Also keep your return ticket, your accommodation booking and proof of sufficient funds for the length of your stay close at hand.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended, and some African countries require a yellow fever vaccination certificate. Finally, remember that entry rules change regularly, as Thailand showed in 2026: always check the conditions with the embassy a few weeks before departure, or ask our advisors.

In summary
With a Moroccan passport, many destinations are open to you without a visa: Turkey, Tunisia and Cape Verde first, but also Brazil, Senegal and Malaysia. Other countries, such as the Maldives or Zanzibar, issue the visa on arrival. Above all, remember that Thailand now requires a visa, and that Europe remains subject to the Schengen visa. To travel with a light heart, a visa-free organised tour remains the simplest option.
